What do you do when your plans for a Texas wedding start to get overwhelming? Scrap the wedding plans and elope!  Lauren and Doug’s plans for a spring trip to one of Colorado’s most beautiful towns suddenly became a wedding/honeymoon.   Surrounded by just their closest, immediate family, Lauren and Doug tied the knot at the Four Seasons in Vail, Colorado.  I was so flattered and truly honored when these two lovebirds contacted about photographing their wedding.  Not only did they  cover every expense from my flight to New York, to my room at the Four Seasons, they went above and beyond and even had us served a delicious dinner at the adjoining restaurant.  I have the best clients!

Lauren and Doug were both so relaxed and fun to be around, and so visibly in love it made them easy to photograph.  I got misty eyed at their ceremony when I saw their Mom’s crying and the way Lauren and Doug were looking at each other.  Their intimate wedding went off without a hitch.  Even the predicted rain that threatened all day never came.  Though it was not quite spring up on the mountains, we were able to find some nice patches of green for their photos and who could complain about the backdrop of snowy peaks that Vail’s recent winter had left us?

Alex came with me to Vail and assisted rolling film.  Everyone loved him (of course) and he did an excellent job.  I keep trying to convince him that we should be a husband and wife photography team, but he doesn’t think it would be very fun to get bossed around by his wife all day every day. (I can’t think why???)  We had a great time exploring Colorado before and after the wedding, and even got to see some dear friends of ours that live in Denver.   It was such a fun weekend- I could get used to this destination wedding thing!

That shot beside the river with pine trees at the back is just so perfect! I love the scene. Perfect frame!
