Lianne and Greg Frankie’s Sputino Wedding | NYC Wedding Photography

Finally, here are the best images from Greg and Liane’s adorable “backyard” Brooklyn wedding.  Judy and I had just seen Liane the day before, but she was truly glowing with joy on her wedding day and looked almost like a different person.  We only wished we had more than 30 minutes to do portraits with them!  I really couldn’t be more in love with the diffused evening light,  Liane’s dress and earrings and this cute restaurant called “Frankie’s Spuntino.”  In a truly Brooklyn fashion, their laid back wedding had 60 guests, the ceremony was about 5 minutes long with Liane’s brother officiating,  and had only a simple acoustic guitar for music.   Their was a subtle rustic Italian theme which fit because they are taking their honeymoon in Florence.   I hope you two have a great time!!!

Thanks so much to Judy Pak for inviting me to shoot this wedding with her.

Liane and Greg | NY Engagement Photographer

I had never been to this part of Brooklyn before, but after this shoot I fell in love and went straight to Craigslist to see how much a tiny apartment would cost me to be in this gorgeous peaceful neighborhood.  Let’s just say a tiny one bedroom was gonna cost me double what the hub and I pay in Astoria for my large 2 bedroom apartment in a great area and only  1 block from the subway… That said, I had a great time and became obsessed with ivy and brownstones.  Go figure.

Thanks to Judy Pak who gave me the opportunity to join her on this fun shoot…  Greg and Liane were sweethearts and Judy and I had a lot of fun hanging out once again and shooting their engagement and wedding the next day (post soon to come).

Enjoy, and try not to get to jealous of the residents of this adorable neighborhood or the perfect love shared by these two cuties.

John Mark Whiddon | NYC Newborn Photographer

Meet John Mark Whiddon-  the first baby of my dear friends Colin and Sofia.  I couldn’t wait to photograph this little guy since I met him the day after he was born.   Here this little Asian/Caucasian halfling is 2 weeks!  When I got to their house I was disappointed with the available light; however,  we made it work with a window and some lamps.  All in all I think it worked out pretty well given what we had to work with.

John Mark had been a little fussy the past few days so his Mom was worried about how well he’d do with the shoot.  We turned the heat up, put on some soothing whale noises and he went right to sleep, seemingly very comfortable in the funniest positions that his Dad helped me get him into.  Thanks for being such a trooper for two hours John Mark!  This newborn shoot is really too cute for words!  Can’t wait to do this family’s portraits in the fall!

Love,

Caroline Frost Shea

PS- This little guy’s mom is an excellent designer and did the tags and prints hanging up in the strawberry pictures.  She also designed my logo. Check her out:  www.sofiachen.com

Crystal Frost Portraits – Personal Files

The past two weeks I was out in California visiting my family who I basically only get to see once a year.   I thought I’d need a few days break from photos, but only a few days into the trip I started getting “the itch.”  When my younger sister, Crystal Frost, mentioned that she might need photos for her website or an album cover, I jumped at the opportunity to photograph my beautiful sister.

Crystal, who I have called Crystie since I was little,  is quite the go-getter.  A Composition major (and business minor) she has already composed a full movie soundtrack and a t.v. show jingle as well as a song for my very own wedding last year!   She is also an aerobics instructor when she is not studying.   I suggested to her as I do to many clients, “You may want to consider not going with  a sleeveless dress. Sleeves are always more flattering in pictures.”  She replied, “Not for my arms, they look awesome!”  Haha!  And right she was…  She wanted a mix of serious, pensive and lighthearted photos to convey that in addition to having heart, she is also a serious female composer in an industry dominated by men.  Here are some of the beautiful shots we got up in Lake Tahoe, CA at our parent’s cabin.

More fun posts to come from my California photo adventures….
