This sweet couple wanted to make it official as soon as possible, and only three weeks after Harry proposed (I know many of you brides reading this have headaches at the thought!) they held a city hall ceremony with close friends and family as a pre-cursor to their July wedding. The wait at city hall was so long, it was almost as though the world was ending and everyone was running to city hall to get married to their sweethearts. By the time Elizabeth and Harry were able to tie the knot, the kids were starving and we had no time for portraits. However, this duo rolled with the punches and their love shined through in every candid moment. Here are some of the sweet moments from their special day.

Been looking forward to this couple’s engagement session since October, but we postponed it to wait for the spring blossoms, and were we rewarded for our wait! The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, bathed in the glow of the warm afternoon light, never looked better with its cherry blossoms blooming, willow tree branches bristling and blankets of purple flowers covering the ground. What a quintessential place to celebrate the new love of this sweet Brooklyn couple who will be getting married in May. Afterwards we captured these city-dweller’s more urban side, spending a little time at the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn as well. We had to call it a night for the sake of Dee’s fingers and toes. It’s not summer yet, people! Though these photos would almost fool you. Can’t wait for this lovey duo’s May wedding!
Hey All! I hope you are having a great holiday season! I just realized that I never blogged some head shots I did, so I thought I would share! Will (pictured first) needed professional head shots for his company and grad school apps (we did a few creative ones as well for the fun of it). Tyler (pictured second) needed musical theater head shots. For headshots its important to find a simple background that draws attention mostly to the person’s face. Will’s whole shoot took place in and around my apartment in Astoria which turned out really well with a perfect soft dusk light. Tyler’s we did entirely at a plaza near battery park.
Get ready for a warm and spicy autumn treat! Ironic because this session was shot in 40 degree weather for which Bianca bravely donned an adorable Urban Outfitters dress bare-legged (props girl!). Nevertheless, this session is reminiscent of a steamy cup of mulled apple cider… spiked with a little rum. The last 6 months while Bianca was in Oregon performing in the cast of Oklahoma, Stephen remained in NYC studying for his Masters at Columbia University. Finally the show ended and the two are reunited, and their love for each other seems to have grown all the stronger in their time apart. Now these two are able to get a jump on planning their wedding taking place upstate in May of 2012. Bianca wanted a fall themed engagement shoot in a unique location. When she suggested New York’s Medieval art and architecture museum called “The Cloisters,” I was elated. This museum, constructed from ruins of castles and cathedrals in Europe (each stone transported to the US and reconstructed) is one of my favorite places in the city and is perfectly placed right next to a long beautiful park on the Hudson. Though most of the leaves fell the weekend before this was taken, we were able to find some areas that still had the rich fall colors. With the beautiful autumn sunset light and a couple so passionately in love, I felt that I had stumbled into a autumn fairytale dream. Can’t wait to shoot their wedding in May!
