Aurora Inn Wedding | New York Wedding Photographer

Kacey’s Matron of Honor said of Kacey that for better or worse her face cannot hide what she’s feeling: whether it’s  the look on her face when she first met Brendan at a Christmas party or the tears that choked her up as she said her vows on her wedding day .  I don’t know if I’ve ever witnessed a wedding with so much laughter and tears!  From tears of joy to laughter and jubilation, Kacey’s emotions spanned the whole spectrum on this day while Brendan’s quiet strength kept his feelings below the surface- that is until Kacey walked down the aisle and sent his face into an enormous grin.   One emotion stood out the most throughout Kacey’s day- and that was how incredibly overjoyed she was to be spending the rest of her life with Brendan.    Brendan, whose best man said of him that he’s the kind of guy that does the right thing even when everyone else is doing the opposite.

Their wedding also spanned a whole spectrum of color with the rainbow flowers and antique glass jars set against the backdrop of grey bridesmaid dresses with a chevron motif popping up in different places throughout day: The bridesmaids gifts, the menus, the candy bags, even the bean bags for the bean bag toss all had this trendy pattern!

I love when my brides and grooms put such an effort into making their day unique and personal and Kacey and Brendan left no detail unpersonalized.  From the thoughtful gifts they gave their wedding attendants, to having their guests sign a snowboard instead of a guestbook, to signs that listed how far it was to each city their friends and family had come from – guests got to enjoy a wedding that was so unique to this couple whose love they were celebrating.  Kacey hand-painted most of the items, and just for the wedding, taught herself Photoshop and designed the vintage postcard style invitations, menus, programs and signs!  Using her new-found skills and natural talent and good taste, she may be starting up an invitation design Etsy shop!  So brides, look out for Mrs. Munson!

And what a better location for a wedding than the quaint village of Aurora, at the Aurora Inn set upon Cayuga Lake, one of the finger lakes in Upstate New York, surrounded by farms and wineries and Oh-so-sweet and peaceful.  Alex made the six hour trek up with me, and we made the most of my work-cation.  The day after the wedding we went wine tasting and swimming and I even gave Alex some photography lessons in a cornfield at sunset.

Thanks so much to Aurora’s local-born Mary Beth Mahaney for second shooting and showing me around town- you were a dream to work with :)

Kacey gave each bridesmaid a chevron pattern bag with a personal memento (letters, cards and drawings) from their friendship inside.   All the guests came from out of town and received this cute tote on arrival to their hotels filled with snacks, useful little items like chapstick and a cute vintage postcard that detailed where all the wedding events would be taking place.

Brendan as he sees Kacey coming down the aisle.

After getting through her tearful vows, Kacey gives Brendan the sweetest look you ever did see!

Instead of escort cards, Brendan and Kacey attached guests name and seating to hand-blown Christmas ornaments.  The sign reads ” We know it’s not July, but because we met at a Christmas party and have been together ever since and because Christmas has always been our favorite time of year, we wanted to share it with you.”

Thank you to Heather, the event coordinator at the Aurora Inn for being so incredibly helpful and calm.  You are amazing at your job  Would love to work with you again!
