Weddings are ultimately about love, and not just the couple’s love for each other, but also their family and friend’s love for them.  Lauren and David’s wedding was full of love overflowing from every direction.  Not only could they hardly contain their love for each other all day (making every photo gush-worthy), but they were also surrounded the most supportive and loving group of friends and family.  All day, I felt like the luckiest NYC wedding photographer, swept up into the emotion and romance of this gorgeous New York City wedding.  Couples like Lauren and David make my job easy and so much fun.  From their ecstatic first look, to Lauren and her father’s special glance before he walked her down the aisle, to the emotional parent dances, I felt so honored and blessed just to be a witness to every minute of it.   Fluffy snowflakes seemed to shed their blessing on David and Lauren’s wedding day, falling all morning and afternoon and softening images of a city that can sometimes appear hard and unfeeling.

Lauren and David thought of every detail that might make their wedding more fun and unique for their guests, which I fully expected after their creative and fun engagement session.   Before the wedding, out of town guests were greeted with creative gift bags full of all kinds of NYC goodies and useful nick-knacks.  In their lovely getting ready suite at the iconic Carlton Hotel .  After a lovely, tear-inducing, ceremony at the Church of the Incarnation and a magnificent sparkler exit,  Lauren and David had double-decker NYC tour buses waiting outside, ready to take guests to the reception.  The festivities culminated at the reception at Studio 450, an incredible loft space in New York City bedecked with show-stopping flowers by Michael George, where their guests were spoiled with amazing food by Relish,  jalapeno margaritas (in honor of their honeymoon to Mexico),  a cigar bar for an after-dinner smoke and late night pizza delivery for the guests who worked up their appetite dancing.   Lauren and David’s personal touches were on everything throughout the wedding day.  Their cake topper allowed them to include their pug and a little school pride in the wedding, and even the fur coat Lauren wore was her grandmother’s.

And despite their incredible attention to the detail and aesthetic, it was obvious to me that they never lost sight of the sacredness of that day and the reason they were there.  I was so amazed at how they were able to let go and fully enjoy their wedding day and all of the special moments it brought to them.  I’m sure this is largely in thanks to their excellent choice in hiring an amazing day of coordinator: Milestone Events by Kristy.

Lauren and David’s wedding day was so much fun to be a part of, I would photograph it all over again.   In addition to all the above reason, it was also such a joy to photograph a wedding with one of my closest friends: Amy Rizzuto.   Not only is she a fun presence to have around in every situation, but she also did an amazing job of looking creatively at every situation and anticipating special moments.
