  • Meet Caroline

A few things you should know about me...I am passionate about creating wedding photos that are natural, romantic and timeless. My approach to portrait time is to create timeless imagery that captures you two and your unique love in an honest, but gorgeously composed way that looks almost candid. Not a model? No problem! I believe it's a photographer's job, not yours to help you look and feel comfortable in front of the camera! I work in both medium format film and some digital. Film because of its beautiful, soft, fine art qualities and perfect skin tones, and digital because of it's reliability in low light situations.

In my spare time I read, write poetry, music and mentor other women. Brunch is my favorite meal of the day and my drink of choice is a French 75.

But enough about me... I look forward to hearing more about you and your wedding plans!

Whidbey Island Wedding | Destination Wedding Photographer

When two of your closest college friends get married, it’s always a particularly special celebration, but when two of your closest college friends get together five years after you’ve known them to be only friends and then get married just a few years later?  It’s the kind of epic moment that sitcom season finales are made of!  (Monica and Chandler anyone?) Once over the initial shock, we were all so thrilled and saw how perfect these two are for each other. Brittney’s focused, soft-spoken, nurturing spirit is the perfect complement to Josh’s energetic, driven and passionate one. Together with their shared love for God, people and making a difference in this world, they have double the potential to make an incredible impact on peoples’ lives as a couple.

So obviously I wanted to photograph Josh and Brittney’s destination wedding day at Freeland Hall on Whidbey Island, a beautiful island off the coast of Seattle. More than anything I wanted the chance to be with them all day, capturing and witnessing every moment of their special day from the pre-wedding jitters to their last dance. But I was also compelled to photograph it because I knew it would have killed me to see this special couple’s day photographed any less than perfectly.

Although their wedding day was a prototypical rainy Seattle day, which unfortunately for them meant an unplanned indoor ceremony, the sun came out for us just in time for bride and groom portraits and a spectacular getaway in a seaplane! The guests had the afternoon to relax and in the evening we all returned for an after party. It was so fun reconnecting and celebrating with NYU friends, who were all equally surprised and excited by Josh and Brittney’s unexpected union!

Josh and Brittney- Love you two so much – Alex and I are so happy for you guys!

My Camera and I are Off to Taiwan

Hey Friends and Clients- I may be a bit harder to get a hold of this week than usual as I will be on the go for 7 days in Taiwan!  To keep up with our adventures follow me on Instagram (@CFrostPhoto) or follow my husband’s hashtag #whitegirlintaiwan, which starts with this photo!  Yup, I got my film, my ONA bag, books, and my old school ipod filled with 40+ hours of Harry Potter audiobooks.  14 hour flight here I come!

Oh did I mention it ended up being a 16.5 hour fight? #hubbyliedtome

Best of Weddings 2014 | NYC Wedding Photographer

The “Best of Weddings” post is probably one of my favorite blogging moments of the year.  It’s such an enjoyable task to go back through each wedding and relive all the fun, romantic moments and gorgeous locations that I had the privilege to photograph.  2014 was an amazing year and took me all over the country from California to Colorado, from Pennsylvania to Vermont with lots of New York and New Jersey in between.  I’m so grateful for all the kind, fun, and creative couples I had the joy of working with.  Here are just a few of my favorites from each wedding I photographed in 2014.  I dare you to make it through this post without a giant smile and misty eyes!

Caroline..You certainly had a bounty of beautiful destinations, weddings and families to photograph this year.
We certainly are very happy that you were able to be part of our familys milestone event…and in such a special way helped us to photograph both the engagement period and wedding. You were a joy to work with and I am always happy to be a reference for you. Thank you for sharing some of Barbara and Adams wedding pictures in your “Best Of 2014” Post.
They always make us smile!

What a beautiful 2014 you had! I can’t wait to see what you create this year!!

Who ME? Two four-page spreads in The Knot?  Are you sure you got the right wedding photographer?  SQUEAL!  I guess I shouldn’t be surprised with all the creative couples and  talented vendors I got to work with this year like the talented florist Brittany Asch of Brrch who created the magical world that was Barbara and Adam’s Midsummer Night Dream wedding in New Jersey this past June or Cheeky Details who styled Tara and Adam’s elegantly styled affair at Oheka Castle Wedding in May.  Still, there is nothing quite as gratifying for a wedding photographer as to see their photos in the glossy pages of a popular wedding magazine like the Knot.  Thank you to ALL the vendors and creative couples who made it possible!  If you haven’t seen the rest of Tara and Adam’s or Barbara and Adam’s wedding photos check them out!
