A few things you should know about me...I am passionate about creating wedding photos that are natural, romantic and timeless. My approach to portrait time is to create timeless imagery that captures you two and your unique love in an honest, but gorgeously composed way that looks almost candid. Not a model? No problem! I believe it's a photographer's job, not yours to help you look and feel comfortable in front of the camera! I work in both medium format film and some digital. Film because of its beautiful, soft, fine art qualities and perfect skin tones, and digital because of it's reliability in low light situations.

In my spare time I read, write poetry, music and mentor other women. Brunch is my favorite meal of the day and my drink of choice is a French 75.

But enough about me... I look forward to hearing more about you and your wedding plans!

Getting Ready at The Plaza | New York Wedding Photographer

Just thought I’d share this fun little collage of getting ready photos as an inspiration for any NYC brides still looking for a hotel to get ready in.  Have you considered The Plaza?  Imagine starting your day with a delicious brunch at the lovely Rose Court restaurant and being pampered and made up for your big day with a view of central Park and/or Fifth Avenue!

When I received a last minute request from Amy Rizutto, a dear friend of mine, to photograph a central park elopement with her that included getting ready photos at The Plaza, how could I turn it down?  I so rarely second shoot anymore, but not only is it difficult to say no to the adorable Amy (her poor husband),  it’s always fun if I have the day free, to do something spontaneous – and what New York wedding photographer can say no to The Plaza? Despite its long history, the hotel is still brimming with style and class.  The rooms are decked in timeless gold and cream decor and chandeliers dripping with luxurious crystals.   Needless to say, it made for some lovely getting ready photos!  Brides considering getting married at the Plaza or anywhere within a 20 block radius should definitely make plans to get ready here!

The Foundry Wedding | New York Wedding Photographer

Rustic, romantic, unique are the words that come to mind when I think of this lovely wedding that I photographed at one of my favorite venues (which also happens to be 10 minutes from where I live) The Foundry in Long Island City New York.  I’m so grateful to the amazingly talented Madeimoselle Fiona who asked me to join her in capturing such an adorable wedding!   Every detail was perfectly executed by my favorite wedding planning team: Firefly Events.   Brides – if you are feeling stressed about making your every wedding dream come true, you need to give the amazing Teissia and Alia a call!  They are there not only to make your wedding day everything you dreamed it would be, but to take every worry off of your shoulders.

Jennifer and Jean-Noel Engaged | New York Wedding Photographer

Jennifer and Jean-Noel met the new old-fashioned way: online.  Okay, maybe not so old-fashioned, but I continue to meet so many couples this year that have met that way!   In the hustle and bustle metropolis of New York City what are the chances that this perfect duo who are both lovers of art, French food and John Lennon would have met by chance?  It was Jean Noel that first reached out to Jennifer, who was instantly charmed by his stories about growing up in France and, as she says, “his adorable way of writing English.”  The met for their first date at a charming West Village Restaurant called Market Table (incidentally one of Alex and my favorite restaurants too)  where at first Jean-Noel was so enraptured by her beauty that he was at a loss for words.  Jennifer wasn’t quite sure what to make of his reaction to first seeing of her, but quickly found out Jean-Noel’s charming sense of humor and ability to make her laugh.  Their second date, they were seated at a table next to Liam Neeson, and took a celebrity sighting as a good sign.   Not long after, these two found themselves many dates later at dinner at Marcus Samuelson’s Red Rooster up in Harlem.   After the meal, they started over towards the nearby apartment they had just bought together, when Jean-Noel surprised her asking her hand in marriage.  These two are getting married at The Roosevelt Hotel in April and I am so honored to be able to share with them such an important day of their life.  For their engagement photos we went back to the hustling, bustling Red Rooster where despite its popularity we were able to get some fun images.  We then found ourselves at Lincoln Center which Jennifer and Jean-Noel felt was appropriate for their engagement shoot, to celebrate their love of the arts.   I hope you enjoy this little journey through their love story!

One of my favorites from the day:

Getting Jennifer to laugh came easy to Jean-Noel….
