A few things you should know about me...I am passionate about creating wedding photos that are natural, romantic and timeless. My approach to portrait time is to create timeless imagery that captures you two and your unique love in an honest, but gorgeously composed way that looks almost candid. Not a model? No problem! I believe it's a photographer's job, not yours to help you look and feel comfortable in front of the camera! I work in both medium format film and some digital. Film because of its beautiful, soft, fine art qualities and perfect skin tones, and digital because of it's reliability in low light situations.

In my spare time I read, write poetry, music and mentor other women. Brunch is my favorite meal of the day and my drink of choice is a French 75.

But enough about me... I look forward to hearing more about you and your wedding plans!

Sneak Peek – NYC Bridal Boudoir Photographer

Wedding photography, you better watch yourself or I just might leave you for bridal boudoir.  I have had the best time this year with all my bridal boudoir sessions!  They are so relaxed and girly and just an awesome way for any woman getting married to channel her self-confidence.   And it’s also a great gift for the groom.  This lady and I had so much fun playing dress up (or undress, whatever) for a few hours.  The session began with her getting pampered with professional hair and makeup.   Then we played around with different combinations of the bag of pretty lacy things she brought….I think she pretty much bought everything Victoria Secret had.

I’ve said it before- my favorite part of my job is seeing and bringing out people’s natural beauty.  Nothing forced, nothing fake, just natural relaxed beauty.  With boudoir sessions it’s all the more challenging because of how exposed and nervous my clients feel at first, but it’s all the more rewarding to show them just how awesome they look from my point of view.  Once they see how gorgeous they look in the first few images I show them in the back of my camera, they always ease up and model like pros.  Here is a little sneak peek from the beginning of my latest session.

Metropolitan Building Wedding | New York Wedding Photographer

I just love me a New York City wedding and the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City has to be my favorite venue in New York.  Full of so many cool nooks, crannies and antiques including a room full of at least 50 antique chairs, the Metropolitan Building gives off a distinctly shabby chic or feminine rustic vibe that is hard to find in a New York City wedding venue.  It was at this gorgeous space that Scott and Sheri decided to tie the knot.  As American United Nations employees working and living full time in the Middle East it was hard for them to chose the perfect spot to tie the knot with their friends and family from all over the world.  In the end they decided on New York City,  a central location for everybody.

Scott and Sheri have a love that lights up a room because it’s so clear that they feel completely at rest in eachother’s presence.   As Scott and Sheri’s friend/officiant said,  self-sacrificing love in marriage should come easy to Scott and Sheri who probably understand this better than any of us.  They who have given their lives to serve  a foreign, impoverished, war-torn land with very little chance at thanks or reward.  That’s the kind of love that anchors a strong marriage through the best and worst of times.

This lovely wedding was planned by the talented Kate from Green Apple Weddings a veteran at planning and coordinating Metropolitan Building weddings and videoed by one of my favorite video teams, Love and You Video who have that special gift so many videographers lack of being virtually unseen and yet capturing every moment perfectly.  A big thank you to my second shooter Sidney and assistant Kristy who were such blessings throughout the day.
